Where in the body does this inflammation come from? It is true that trans and saturated fats can increase inflammation, but it’s the body fat itself that is the main culprit; this is especially seen in the “belly” region.

According to a study printed in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, the amount of inflammation within a person’s body was relative to their body fat. Basically it means that until you do away with the extra fat, you’re going to have a tough time managing your blood sugar levels.

Obesity, even just being overweight, makes you a prime candidate for type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Without intervention you will probably end up taking multiple medications and/or having to make drastic lifestyle alterations for a disease that can affect every aspect of your life. Losing weight is what will help you to reverse type 2 diabetes.
